Gum Bleeding

The soft tissue around the cervical portion of the tooth and alveolar bone is known as gum. Deposition of food particles and bacterias can cause gum bleeding even with the slightest touch or soft brushing. There might be a couple of reasons why you are suffering from gum bleeding but the most common ones are brushing teeth too hard, pregnancy, gingivitis, flossing, or medication. One of these factors is enough to cause bleeding while in some cases your problem might be caused by several factors.

It is advised to use a toothbrush that is good for your teeth and gums. But most people choose stronger brushes as they think stronger brushes provide better dental hygiene. This conception is not only wrong but also can harm your gums which eventually causes bleeding. If you are using some sort of medication that might thin your blood, they may cause bleeding gums as well. Lack of oral hygiene causes gingivitis which leads to gum bleeding.

If your gums are unhealthy you can easily spot them by checking their color. If it’s swollen and red, this might be a sign of a disease. Bad breath, plague, and white spots are also common symptoms of gum diseases. When not treated soon enough, gum bleeding might cause more complicated gum diseases which can trigger tooth decaying and even tooth loss.

Treatment Of Gum Bleeding

• Choosing a proper toothbrush and using good quality toothpaste generally solves the problem. By doing so, you can remove plaque on the teeth that cause bacteria and bleeding gums.

• If you have swollen gum, you might need to use medication as well.

• For some patients, dentists recommend dental cleaning or deep dental cleaning.

• If the plagues that cause bleeding are under the gum, you might need to undergo a simple procedure to remove them.
